The co-op is made up of mothers from Lakevale and surrounding streets on Oak Valley. Members trade babysitting hours by contacting one another directly for sits or arranging them through the secretary.  You “earn” hours by watching members’ children and “pay” with hours when another member watches your children. Each member receives 25 hours when joining the co-op, and must have at least 25 hours to leave. Most of the year, the co-op meets on the last Thursday of the month at a member’s home. In July, there is a “ladies night out, and in place of November and December meetings, we hold a holiday party and gift exchange in early December. Membership is capped at a maximum of 25 members, so everyone has a chance to get to know one another.
